Governors Safety Award

James River Transportation received the Governor’s Transportation Safety Award at the 2019 Virginia Highway Safety Summit. The company has a long history of incorporating innovative methods and technology into its safety and training systems.

Last year, James River partnered with the State of Virginia to test a new Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS). “Since we know are drivers do not drink and drive, we volunteered to test this technology in real world conditions, providing thousands of breath samples so the system could be perfected for consumer use.”, Stephen W. Story, President, said. “Partnering with the State of Virginia and DMV provides an opportunity to test innovative safety technology and reinforces the Safety Culture within our team.”
